Reverend Shemaiah Strickland is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of eight, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and service. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Morgan State University. Before entering full-time ministry, she honed her professional expertise at an international law firm in the District of Columbia, supporting the Appellate and Legislative Practice Groups.

A passionate advocate for institutional excellence and spiritual growth, she currently serves as the "Chairperson of the Leadership Development Committee" for the Baltimore-Washington Conference (BWC), where she helps shape the future of leadership within the connection.

Throughout her ministry, Reverend Strickland has been dedicated to holistic community care and pastoral excellence. During her formative ministry years, she interned at McKendree Simms Brookland UMC in Washington, D.C., where she focused on community outreach and initiated a specialized ministry for adults aged 40–55 centered on the pursuit of personal wholeness.

Reverend Strickland received her Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2021 and was ordained a Full Elder in the Baltimore-Washington Conference in 2024. Currently, she serves as the Pastor of the Nottingham Myers Christ UMC Cooperative Parish within the Two Rivers District.

Driven by the firm belief that every individual has a unique, God-given purpose, Reverend Strickland strives to encourage others to discover their calling through a deep relationship with God. Her ministry is defined by a commitment to radical obedience and a steadfast belief in the power of a God-led life.
